The Bull Fight

When Maeve arrived back in Connacht, she ordered that the Brown Bull of Cooley be put into a pen to keep it safe. When Ailill’s white bull Finnbhennach heard the bull bellowing it came charging to defend its territory. All the warriors watched the mighty duel, which lasted into the night. Finally the brown bull impaled Finnbhennach on its horns and the white bull was kill instantly. The brown bull raging and bellowing turned and galloped home to Cooley. No sooner had it arrived that its heart stopped and it collapsed and died. So in the end, after the long battle, neither Maeve nor Ailill were richer than the other.
